刚收到英国朋友的来信~分享之

年后我的这位老外朋友又回中国了,现在在成都科技大学教书。回来了就不忘记给我回信,呵呵!感觉蛮不错!以下是原文:
Hey Jacky

I know, I know. It has been a very long time since we chatted or e mailed, but I am sure you figured out for yourself that we were in England for the last month or so, and so have been pretty busy. In fact, we did so much stuff back in England that I only had time to send one mail - to my friend Frank who is leaving Wanzhou to go back to America in the next few days. It was all a little bit crazy, and we spent a massive amount of money on it, being at it was Zeng Juan's first time in England, and there was a lot to see and do. Going back to England after such a long time meant that I had a greater appreciation of all the things that I had been away from, and was especially able to enjoy all the historical and cultural things that I had  eiither not seen before, or not appreciated whilst living in England before. I have a lot of friends left in England, but the most I was able to see any of them was three times, and that was by organising a last minute dinner the night before we left. Next time we go back, we will be able to relax a little I think, as there will not be so much stuff that we will feel compelled to do - well, not in London at least!

Happy new year to you and your family. Were you able to get any time off for the  holiday, and if so, were you actually able to get home. It was all over the newspapers in England that China was having it's coldest and craziest weather for fifty years, and indeed it even snowed heavily in Chengdu, with a little before I left, but most just after. The funny thing was that while the weather here was so terrible, the weather in England was the most beautiful weather I have seen in England, perhaps ever. We had one or two days of freezing fog, and one day of rain, but the rest was blue skies, low sunshine and cold nights as there were no clouds to keep the heat in. I hope things turned out ok for you, and that you were able to see something of your family and friends. tell about what you did!

We got back yesterday, and being back here still feels a little odd. It is certainly colder int he flat here than it was back in my parents house in England.  I still have all the unpacking to do, as well as cleaning, but at least we have the weekend to relax before thinking about going back to work. I will be starting a new job with an English university here, teaching College students on another foundation English year at Chengdu University of Technology. The job looks good, so we shall see how it pans out.

Give me any news you have, especially about your new company, and I hope to hear fromyou soon.

Happy new year once again.

Adam
